Chimney Waterproofing
It’s an awful feeling to see water leaking into your home and knowing that you have a big problem on your hands. Our team can solve that headache quickly and efficiently. Know that when you see a leak in your chimney—we can help seal it.
Some Common Sources Of Chimney Leaks:
- The Chimney Cap: If your chimney cap is missing or damaged, it might be contributing to a leak.
- The Chimney Crown: Just beneath where the chimney cap is installed, there’s a masonry crown, working to direct rain and snow away from the flue. If it’s cracked or otherwise damaged, it may be allowing water to get into the system.
- The Bricks or Stone: Bricks and stone are porous and absorb water. Add a freeze-thas cycle on top of water-soaked bricks or stone and you have a recipe for a leaking chimney.
- The Chimney Flashing: Where your chimney meets the roofline, flashing material is installed to keep water out. If it’s damaged or missing, or if the caulk around the edges has come loose or come off, water might be making its way in there.
After repairing the leak, our technicians can apply water repellent to block out moisture down the road.
