Your chimney is a complex system with many parts, all of which are being continually taxed from the heat of a fire inside or the cold and moisture of the elements outside. When problems arise and you’re in need of chimney repairs, we’re here to help.

Whether you need to repair or replace a part, such as a chimney cap, or if you need a full chimney flue relining, we have the experience to do the job right.  Since 1979, we’ve helped over 20,000 customers in Wichita and South Central Kansas area enjoy a safer, more efficient chimney.

Common Chimney Repair Needs

  • Repairing and replacing chimney parts – Is your chimney missing its cap? Has storm damage left your chimney’s flashing pulled up or missing? Has the caulking come loose? We have a broad selection of products in our showroom, and our experienced technicians can properly install any chimney part you need.
  • Chimney relining – It’s important that your flue lining be sound.  Gaps, cracks, or flaking clay tiles can allow toxic carbon monoxide into your home and can contribute to further degradation of your chimney. We can repair damaged flue liners, and if your liner is too damaged — or if your historic chimney was built without one — we can replace it. We use a wide variety of chimney liners and our CSIA Certified Technicians can recommend the perfect lining system for each individual chimney.
  • HeatShield – Stainless Steel Relining may not be the best option for your home due to budget or needs. We also offer liner restoration with HeatShield Cerfractory Sealant, which is a cost-effective and long-lasting way to restore your flue liner. For more information on HeatShield, Click Here.

Be Proactive!

It’s hard to completely avoid the need for chimney repairs, but there are simple, proactive measures you can take to delay the need for repairs.

First and foremost, make sure to schedule your annual chimney inspection and chimney sweeping!  A swept chimney can function efficiently and safely, and a yearly inspection will help you stay aware of any problems before they become major issues.

You can also keep a lookout for the most common sources of water damage. The parts of your chimney designed to protect it from its worst enemy, water, tend to be the most common places that leaks spring from. Those include the cap (Is it damaged? Is it missing?), the chimney crown (Do you see cracks?), the chimney flashing (Is it missing or torn?), and the chimney damper (Is it functioning correctly?). Our CSIA Certified Chimney Technicians will check all of these parts during an inspection, but keeping an eye out, and making sure to clear debris away from your chimney on the outside, can help in-between visits.

Having ChimneySaver water repellent applied can also help decrease the need for repairs. When applied to the exterior of your chimney, ChimneySaver water repellent can protect your chimney, while still allowing proper airflow through the brick and mortar.
