Job Description

We are a complete full-service chimney company, and we do everything from cleaning fireplaces to complete rebuilds and installation. You will be apprenticing in preparation for you to earn your certification and become a lead technician.

You must have at least 1 year of construction experience which may include: framing, roofing, brick and block work, or any type of remodeling. If you have HVAC experience, that is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Must be comfortable on ladders, scaffolding, and roofs
  • Ability to kneel for extended periods of time to perform work on units
  • Pass a drug test
  • Valid Driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Construction experience is a must
  • Military experience is a plus
  • Must provide own basic hand tools. A list will be provided.
  • High School diploma
  • Must be able to lift at least 100 lbs
  • Must be able to work overtime in peak season
  • Exhibit a professional appearance at all times. Clean Shaven Daily is required.
  • Abiilty to wear a respirator

Job Responsibilities:

  • Production Based pay scale, Earn $55,000+ in your first year of certification

HVAC Service Technician / Apprentice – (Heat-Only/No Cooling Specialist)

Job description

This position involves servicing, repairing, and installing gas fireplace, insert, and freestanding stove systems.

Our Gas Technicians are responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and diagnosing problems followed by providing solutions and selling system improvements and replacements.

  • This career position in the Hearth Industry involves, but is not limited to the Installation of Fireplaces, Chimneys, Hearth Appliances, & Hearth Accessories.
  • There will be home-study materials provided and the completion of those study materials will be required on a strict timeline. Classroom and on-the-job field training will be required with NFI Specialist Certification expected to be completed within 100 days of hire.
  • Candidates must have at least 1 year of basic construction or service trades experience, which could include framing, roofing, remodeling, HVAC, or other types of construction or service. (Not DIY.)
  • Assistants/Apprentices will be paired with a Journeyman trainer through their apprenticeship period who will insure that your training is completed fully and properly.
  • For a motivated person who has previous service work/installation experience, is quick to learn, and can successfully apply and integrate what they’ve learned, they can turn this opportunity into a full-time career position with benefits.
  • If you have Hearth and/or HVAC experience working with gas control valves and troubleshooting, it will be very helpful and will be an advantage to you in the interview and selection process.
  • Sales Commissions and bonuses are an integral part of our compensation package after your apprenticeship is complete.
  • Advancement to Fully Certified Technician will occur once certifications and training have been satisfactorily completed (which is dependent on how hard you study and how quickly you fully master the required skills).
  • The qualified applicant will train to move into a position of running a Service and Installation truck for our company.

Certified Fireplace / Chimney / Hearth Technician

Location: Wichita, KS

Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Wage: $20 – $50 per hour (DOE and Certifications). Production-based pay + Benefits Package after Certification.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED as a minimum.

Experience Required: Hearth Industry or HVAC Service/Installation 1 Year Minimum

Required License or Certification: Current CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep, CCP Certified Chimney Professional, and/or NFI Gas or Wood Specialist Certification. NOTE: If you have an HVAC Certificate or License, you are eligible and encouraged to apply and train for this position.

Days/Hours Required: Monday-Friday 7 am – ?; Occasional Saturdays as needed. Overtime as required.

  • If you are currently certified within this industry (CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep, CCP Certified Chimney Professional, or NFI Certified Specialist), you qualify for consideration.
  • This career position in the Hearth Industry involves the Service, Installation, and Repair of Fireplaces, Chimneys, Hearth Appliances & Hearth Accessories. This position includes in-home solution-based sales.
  • If you have Hearth and/or HVAC experience working with gas control valves and troubleshooting, it will be very helpful and will likely be an advantage to you in the interview and selection process.
  • For a motivated person who has previous service work/installation/sales experience, is quick to learn, and can successfully apply and integrate what they’ve learned, they can fast-track into a full-time career position with benefits.
  • Advancement to Fully Certified Technician will occur once certifications and training have been satisfactorily completed (which is totally dependent on how hard you study and how quickly you fully master the required skills).
  • The qualified applicant will train to move into a position of running a Service and Installation truck for our company.
  • There will be home-study materials provided and the completion of those study materials will be required on a strict timeline. Classroom and on-the-job field training will be required.
  • If not already in hand, CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep Certification and Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician Certification are expected to be completed within 120 days of hire.
